If you're lucky enough to stumble upon this treasure of a village you could find yourselves in the company of many a famous star. Our very own Prime Minister Mr David Cameron, Comedienne Catherine Tate, T.V favorite Dawn French and music artists Morrissey and Will Young have all frequented this fine village.

All staying in the heart of Portloe, the Lugger Hotel. Although once under a dark cloud, a former owner was driven to the gallows for his second vocation in brandy smuggling, this hotel is truly a hidden jewel. Decorated to a high new England vibe only an ocean liner could get you closer to the Atlantic!

Seriously nestled around the hotel are the most beautiful chocolate box Cornish Granite Cottages. You can't help but get that tingly feeling when sat atop the cliffs surrounding the village at dusk when the lights are turned on in the cottages, everything just looks so proper and inviting! Whilst sitting, look out to see and watch the trawlers being un-loaded. You really could be 200 yr s previous watching the baskets of freshly caught pilchards come ashore so little has changed.

For a brilliant home cooked Roast supper head to the Ship Inn. This is the only pub around but boy it's good. Low beamed ceilings with nook and cranny seating for the romantics amongst us enjoying a pint of handsome Cornish ale and a cuddle or how about a large group for a birthday out side in the beer garden. Either perched together on the picnic tables or sprawled on the grass sunbathing soaking the relaxed atmosphere and great sun shine.
