Probus is just of the A390 and close to St Austell with bus links to both St Austell and Truro. The village has a fantastic 18th century pub on the fore street, The Hawkins Arms, which is a St Austell Brewery Pub.
In addition there is a fish & chip shop (a very good one!) a cafe and a 300 year old restaurant known as The Lamplighter. The head chef at the Lamplighter was once the head chef of the QE2 so you can be assured of a great experience. The restauant has been awarded a two rosette award by the AA food guide.
The old methodist church in Probus is now home to a second hand shop – Junk and Disorderly. The shop is an alladins cave of trinkets, furniture, jewellery and a waealth of other objects from around Cornwall and further afield.
The Church at Probus has a tower of over 120' high and the inside and outside of the Church is covered in stone carvings.
