The Roseland Peninsula, is arguably one of the most popular areas in Cornwall to live, work and visit. The area encompasses some fantastically good countryside and the surrounding towns and villages, such as Mevagissey, offer great facilities and attractions that draw in visitors from around the globe. The climate on the Roseland Peninsula is almost Mediterranean with very mild winters and lovely hot summers!

The beaches around the Roseland Peninsula, as with the rest of Cornwall, are the cleanest in the country and even during the summer months remain relatively uncrowded. Being surrounded by the sea on three sides the Roseland Peninsula is a honey pot for the marine and watersports enthusiast. The area attracts countless sailors throughout the year and acts as a spring board for trans Atlantic crossings. Falmouth, a global maritime centre, is just a short trip away on the pedestrian ferry from St Mawes or a short drive using the King Harry Ferry.

The tourist coming to the Roseland Peninsula is well catered for with a number of excellent hotels, that seem to attract celebrities and royalty, a wealth of great bed and breakfasts and more self catering cottages than you can shake a stick at!

Food lovers wont be disappointed either. Fish doesn’t come any fresher and most of the time visiting a pub or restaurant, you could be eating fish and shellfish thats just a few hours old. Of course there’s a greater selection of fare on offer than just seafood and if you have a penchant for poultry, do visit The Kings Head at Ruan Lanihorne, one of the best places to eat on the Roseland, to experience their locally reared 'Ruan Duck' dishes. For great take away Fish & Chips, try the shops at Probus, Mevagissey, St Mawes or catch the mobile shop that does the rounds throughout the week visiting a different village each day.

The Roseland Peninsula is pretty much in the centre of Cornwall and is therefore a great base from which to explore the various attractions that Cornwall has to offer.
